As the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow is home to the state secretariat and dozens of government departments, several now pushing toward AI-assisted citizen service delivery as part of the state's broader digital governance push, from unified service portals to district-level scheme tracking. IIIT Lucknow adds a local AI and data science research base to draw on. The city is also a healthcare centre, with institutions like SGPGI and KGMU serving patients from across the state and generating exactly the clinical data volume an AI decision-support tool needs. Scale is genuinely the defining feature of AI work here: a citizen-service model in Lucknow has to work for a state with a population larger than most countries, which changes how carefully it needs to be tested before launch.
Lucknow's education sector, anchored by Lucknow University and a large coaching industry, has real potential for AI-assisted assessment and personalised learning, but only if it's built for Hindi-speaking students on shared family devices, not translated from an English-first product. Across all these sectors, the DPDP Rules require consent notices, data rights handling, and breach reporting from May 2027, including for public-facing and education systems that hold data on large numbers of citizens and students.
Akoode builds everything in-house, with no subcontracting. We invoice in rupees with GST, contract under Indian law, and send senior engineers from our Gurugram base to Lucknow for workshops, committee presentations, and launches. We're also honest early about what a government or education budget can realistically achieve, rather than overselling a scope that gets cut back once a committee sees the real numbers.
