Jaipur is one of the world's major centres for cutting and trading coloured gemstones, with workshops spread from the old city's lanes to the Sitapura Industrial Area and its export units. Every stone that passes through grading and certification generates a labelled example, weight, clarity, colour, cut, that a computer-vision model can learn from, provided the historical grading records are organised well enough to train on. That's usually the real bottleneck, not the AI itself.
Tourism is the other great data source. Amer Fort, the City Palace, and Jaipur's heritage hotels see demand swing sharply around the October-to-March season and January's Literature Festival, patterns that repeat year after year and are exactly what a demand-forecasting model needs to learn. Hotels and tour operators competing against online travel agents that take substantial commissions have a real incentive to price and staff around AI-driven forecasts rather than guesswork. Block printers, potters, and textile exporters selling internationally add a third opportunity: catalogue and product-matching AI built on years of export photography.
Akoode builds everything in-house, without subcontractors. We invoice in rupees with GST, contract under Indian law, and send senior engineers from Gurugram to Jaipur for workshops, model validation against real grading or booking data, and launches. The drive down NH-48 makes Jaipur one of the easier cities for us to visit.
