Delivery

Held to the Standard of a Country That Has Twice Changed How the World Talks

Canadian businesses, wherever they are based, need a mobile development partner who ships on schedule, communicates clearly, and builds apps that hold up under App Store review and real user load. Every Akoode project runs through our in-house team from architecture to deployment, no handoffs, no surprises.

A Delivery Record That Spans the Country

We build scalable mobile products for startups, scale-ups, and enterprise teams across Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Waterloo, Calgary, and every province in between. Every engagement follows a structured roadmap with milestone tracking, sprint reviews, and clear delivery accountability from day one.

Overlap Hours Built Around North American Time Zones

Our teams structure working hours to overlap meaningfully with Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time across Canada, and clients stay connected through Slack, Jira, GitHub, and weekly sprint reporting for the length of the engagement.

Built to Still Be Standing Years Later

Canadian clients tend to stay with Akoode well past their first release, because we build for maintainability from the outset rather than leaving a costly rebuild waiting two years down the line.

A Name That Holds Up Across Borders

Akoode's ratings on Clutch and Google reflect a consistent track record across FinTech, HealthTech, SaaS, and enterprise technology, backed by mobile engineers fluent in Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, and applied AI.

Timelines That Actually Hold

97% of projects delivered within committed timelines. Milestone tracking and sprint accountability keep every engagement on schedule.

Never Left Wondering Where Things Stand

Structured overlap hours and weekly sprint reporting mean nothing important is ever handled purely by email.

Engineering That Survives Real Use

Scalable, secure, production-ready mobile apps built with documented architecture and clean code standards from day one.

A Relationship, Not a One-Off Handover

Most clients continue working with Akoode well beyond launch. We design for maintainability so scaling doesn't mean rebuilding a year later.

The Country That Reinvented How the World Communicates, Twice

In July 1874, at his family's home in Brantford, Ontario, a young Alexander Graham Bell sat by the Grand River at a spot he called his dreaming place and worked out the fundamental principle behind the telephone. Two years later, in August 1876, he carried out the world's first long-distance telephone call, from Brantford to the nearby town of Paris, Ontario, over a telegraph wire. Brantford is still known today as The Telephone City, and the Bell Homestead is a Canadian National Historic Site. Long before a mobile phone could fit in a pocket, the idea of a device carrying a human voice across distance was worked out on a Canadian farm.

A little over a century later, a different Ontario town gave the world the device that turned that idea into something you could carry everywhere. Research In Motion was founded in Waterloo, Ontario in 1984 by Mike Lazaridis and Doug Fregin, and after fifteen years of largely unnoticed engineering work, released the first BlackBerry in 1999, a two-way pager with a full keyboard that could send and receive email from anywhere. It was, for the better part of a decade, the device that defined mobile communication for the working world, at one point the most valuable company in Canada and, as one retrospective put it, Canada's crowning achievement in technology. BlackBerry did not just build a popular gadget, it proved a mobile device could be a genuine extension of a person's working life, an idea every mobile app built since has inherited whether its developers know the history or not.

A mobile app built for a Canadian business sits inside that same lineage, voice carried across distance from a Brantford farmhouse, then a working life carried in someone's pocket from a Waterloo office park. Akoode's mobile teams build with that same ambition as the baseline: a mobile product that does not just work, but genuinely changes how the people using it get things done, the same standard this country has already met twice.

A National Communications Legacy

The telephone was conceived in Brantford, Ontario in 1874, and mobile email was pioneered in Waterloo, Ontario with the first BlackBerry in 1999.

Overlap Built for a Six-Time-Zone Country

Structured working hours designed to overlap meaningfully across Canada's Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.

Waterloo's Ongoing Reputation as a Tech Hub

BlackBerry is widely credited with putting Waterloo on the map as an innovation hub, a reputation the region's tech sector still carries today.

Sector Depth Across a Genuinely Diverse Economy

Deep delivery experience across Canada's dominant verticals: FinTech, HealthTech, SaaS, natural resources, and enterprise technology.

What a Canadian Mobile Engagement Actually Covers

Whether the client is a two-person Toronto startup or a national enterprise with offices across the country, every engagement covers the same ground: product strategy, interface design, engineering, AI where it earns its place, and support that continues past launch day.

Commission Tiers

5-Minute

Sync Cadence

Challenge

None of this broke all at once. As the partner base grew past what a spreadsheet or a verbal agreement could realistically track, four problems started compounding on top of each other.

What We Built

Digitizing the spreadsheet was never really the goal. The brief was to replace a process that was blind to attribution with a closed-loop system where every sale, commission, and payout could be traced end to end.

Building a Real Estate CRM That Runs the Whole Brokerage — Web Dashboard, Field Mobile App, and Subscription Billing

Key Outcomes

16

Feature Modules

4

Property Categories

Challenge

None of these problems were dramatic on their own. A duplicated call here, a stale price there. What made them expensive was how they fed each other — because listings lived in one place and enquiries in another, no agent could verify anything while standing in front of a client, so they guessed, and every guess created a correction somewhere downstream.

What We Built

We were explicit with the client early on: layering software over the existing spreadsheet habits would just add a fourth place to look. The brief we agreed on was replacement. Everything an agent touches during a working day had to live in the new system by launch, or the old habits would survive alongside it and nothing would change.

Vallo Parking - A Three-Surface Parking Platform

Key Outcomes

3

Connected surfaces

4

Sign-in paths

Challenge

No single failure here was fatal on its own. Stacked together, they were. A driver who can't check availability arrives at a full lot. A driver who can't pay in advance queues at the barrier. A lot with no arrival record can't settle a dispute. An owner who can't list a space themselves waits on staff. And a business with no console can't see any of it happening. Every gap made the next one more expensive.

What We Built

The client wasn't asking for a listings app with a payment button bolted on. They needed the whole operation to run on software: the driver's journey from search to departure, the owner's ability to put inventory on the platform without help, and their own ability to see and control all of it. Three audiences, one system, no manual bridge between them.

Your Build Never Leaves Our Building

Every Akoode engagement runs entirely inside our own in-house team. Canadian clients work directly with the developers, architects, designers, and strategists actually responsible for delivery, with no third-party shops and no white-labelling anywhere in the process.

AI Built to Do Real Work in Production

Akoode builds AI directly into production mobile apps, from document analysis to intelligent automation, recommendation engines, and AI-powered search, with every feature expected to earn its place in production rather than sit unused as a proof of concept.

Whoever Designs It Also Builds It

A senior engineer leads every Canadian engagement, directly involved in architecture decisions, sprint reviews, and deployment, writing code alongside the team rather than managing tickets from a distance.

Privacy and Compliance Handled From Day One

Akoode designs mobile apps around PIPEDA, provincial privacy legislation, and App Store and Play Store review guidelines from the first design sprint, rather than retrofitting compliance right before submission.

Ways of Working That Fit How Canadian Teams Actually Operate

Choose how you want to work with us. Every model includes dedicated engineers, full IP ownership, transparent communication, and direct access to the people building your product.

Questions Canada Clients Actually Ask

Straight answers on process, pricing, timelines, compliance, and what working with Akoode actually looks like for Canada mobile app projects.

Mobile app development costs in Canada depend on scope, complexity, platform choice, engagement model, and industry, and vary meaningfully between a lean consumer MVP and a fully regulated FinTech or HealthTech platform. An MVP typically starts from CAD 30,000 to 70,000 depending on feature depth and whether it targets one or both platforms, with fintech apps often running higher given the compliance work involved. A full-featured app with real-time data, complex third-party integrations, or multi-province regulatory requirements can run considerably higher again. Akoode provides detailed scoping and transparent pricing during discovery, and Canadian clients receive a fixed-cost proposal for any defined-scope project before committing to anything.
It depends on your priorities. Native Swift and Kotlin apps give the best performance and deepest platform integration, which matters most for apps with heavy device feature use. Flutter or React Native gets a single codebase to both platforms faster and at lower cost, which suits most MVPs and business apps. We recommend the right approach during discovery based on your actual requirements, not a default agency preference.
Our teams structure working hours to provide meaningful overlap with Canada's business day across Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones. Planning sessions, sprint reviews, design critiques, and deployment calls are scheduled to fit, and clients communicate directly with their development team through Slack, Jira, and GitHub throughout the project.
Akoode has taken over mobile projects started by other development teams on multiple occasions, for clients across different parts of Canada. The process starts with a technical audit of the existing codebase, App Store account, and documentation. Our senior engineers assess quality, identify risks, and produce a remediation plan before development continues.
Submission is part of every mobile engagement. Our team handles listing preparation, metadata, privacy disclosures, and the review guideline issues that most commonly cause a first submission to bounce back, so Canadian clients are not learning App Store and Play Store review requirements for the first time on launch day.
Yes. AI development is a core capability, not an add-on. Akoode builds in-app AI features using RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, computer vision, and predictive analytics, covering document analysis, intelligent search, recommendation engines, and operational automation, all built with explainability and privacy-first data handling as standard.
Our strongest sector experience in the Canadian mobile market covers FinTech, HealthTech, SaaS, retail, and enterprise technology, spanning clients from Toronto's financial sector to Waterloo's engineering talent pool and healthcare providers across the country. For FinTech, we have delivered mobile apps across regulated platforms and open banking-style integrations. For HealthTech, our work includes privacy-aware apps and HL7 FHIR-integrated patient engagement tools built to handle sensitive data the way Canadian patients and providers expect it to be handled, not as an afterthought bolted onto a generic template.
We work with clients across the entire country. Our teams have delivered mobile projects for businesses headquartered in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Waterloo, Calgary, Ottawa, and smaller cities throughout Canada. Location within the country has no bearing on the level of engagement, communication cadence, or technical rigor a project receives.
Akoode works across the full spectrum: early-stage Canadian startups building their first app, growth-stage companies scaling an existing product, and enterprise teams running large-scale mobile transformation programmes, regardless of where in the country they are based. Startups typically work on fixed-cost MVP engagements, while scale-ups and enterprises tend to move to dedicated team or staff augmentation models as complexity grows.
A dedicated team provides a complete cross-functional unit, developers, QA, designers, and a technical lead, working on your app full-time as an extension of your organisation. Staff augmentation adds individual specialist engineers directly into your existing in-house team to fill specific skill gaps or accelerate velocity.
Timelines depend on scope and complexity, not on which Canadian city or province the client is based in. A well-scoped MVP typically takes eight to twelve weeks from discovery to App Store submission. An app with real-time features, payment integration, or complex backend logic usually requires three to five months.
Compliance is addressed at the architecture stage, not bolted on before launch. For Canadian clients, our teams map PIPEDA requirements, provincial privacy legislation, and sector-specific regulations into the app design from the first sprint, producing documentation alongside the technical build rather than after it.
Yes. Akoode signs NDAs before any detailed technical or commercial discussions. All intellectual property created during the engagement transfers fully to the client, and Akoode retains no rights to the code, designs, or product documentation delivered under the engagement.
Submit your project requirements through the contact form on this page. A senior member of the Akoode team will review your submission and respond within one business day, regardless of which part of Canada you are contacting us from. If your project is complex, we'll recommend a paid discovery engagement to produce a detailed technical scope and delivery roadmap before a fixed commitment is made.
